A classic Cornish cottage located on the corner of West Street and Sydney Hill in the centre of Polruan. The cottage has easy access to the quayside and the ferry across to Fowey.There is a kitchen/dining room which opens into a sitting room with an exposed stone fireplace and wood burning stove. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom, and a further set of stairs leads to the third bedroom in the eaves of the roof. This room has restricted head height and a velux window.There are double glazed windows, gas fired central heating (gas provided by gas cylinders) and a useful outside storage room.
There is a small yard area and steps that lead up to a wooden deck with a side view of the estuary.
From the quay, walk up the road to the crossroads. Turn right into West Street and walk along this road. The cottage is located on the left, on the corner of Sydney Hill.
Polruan is a traditional waterside village situated on the east bank of the River Fowey. The Fowey estuary is well known for its safe anchorage and excellent sailing facilities. Fowey itself can be reached by car via the Ferry at nearby Bodinnick, or by regular passenger ferry running from the quay in Polruan. National Trust owned land surrounds the area and there are many scenic coastal walks to enjoy. Plymouth is approximately 40 miles away. There are main line railway stations at Par, Lostwithiel and Bodmin. Polruan has shops, inns, café, many trading all year round catering for most every day requirements.
