This is a spacious family home set on an elevated plot overlooking the village of Tywardreath, which offers fantastic countryside and coastal views. The house is of an interesting split level arrangement, which nicely separates the main living accommodation and bedrooms. The layout is inverse, with the main living room and kitchen diner being on the upper level to allow the views to be enjoyed from both of these rooms. There are patio doors from both rooms to a 25x15ft sun terrace which enjoys a sunny aspect and benefits from wonderful views and the potential to create an impressive entertaining space. There is also one double bedroom and a separate shower room situated on this level, with stairs leading to the uppermost level and offering integral access into the garage. A second flight of stairs leads down to the lower ground floor and four further bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms are doubles, and enjoy the views to the front of the house. There is a well appointed main bathroom downstairs to service the lower floor. The fifth bedroom is currently used as an office/study. Outside the house there are areas of garden which are laid to lawn to the front and rear, with borders with a profusion of plants and shrubs. On the lower lawn there is an outside storage shed, and an impressive array of hydrangeas along the lower border. There are also some mature palms in the lower garden. Steps lead around either side of the house, up to the driveway which offers off road parking for two cars and level access into the garage.
From our office in Fowey, follow the B3269 towards Lostwithiel. After approximately two miles, turn left at the cross roads at Castledore, and follow the road down the hill towards Tywardreath. Just before entering the top of the village, turn left onto Polpey Lane. Continue along the lane and the house will be seen on your right, identified by our 'For Sale' board.
Tywardreath is an interesting old Cornish village, just inland from the Fowey Estuary, near the South Cornish Coast. It has a local shop, butchers, fish and chip shop, garage, pub and church. There is a nursery and primary school in the village and secondary education provided nearby in Fowey. Access out of Cornwall is easy with the main line train station at Par less than a mile away, the nearby A38 for road travel, or Newquay airport offering regular flights just 40 minutes away.
